Great for VR! I wish it supplied power.
I knew this cable wasn't goint to supply power when I requested it, but that still didn't stop me from wanting a 10m long cable for VR!

Lets get down to business:
- Does this work for VR? YES! My Quest 3 runs perfect with this cable
- Does it deliver power? Not really. Battery will drain and run out quicker than the official link cable
- Is this longer than the official link cable? YES! Twice as long! This is important as my computer is kind of far from my VR play space and a longer cable is very important for freedom of movement!
- This cable is slightly stiffer and not as flexible as the official Quest link cable. This may be a good thing for durability in the long run. Only time will tell.
- My quest 3 has a Deluxe Audio Strap and the adapters get in the way of the cables. I'm unable to use the official link cable, but I can use this cable pretty good.

Would I recommend for VR?
- YES but I'd order the version of the cable with the straight USB C connector. They make USB-C power injectors for the Quest specifically for cases where the data cable is unable to supply enough power. The data comes in "straight" while power comes in from the "side" so it'd work great for Quest batteries, but it needs a right angle to straight adapter to work with the right angle version I have.

Conclusion:
I bought this cable for VR, and it does the job well. It's way longer than the official Meta cable allowing me to dance without worrying that I'm going to yank the cable out of my computer, and yet I can do it without needing a special router for wireless usage. If you plan to use this for VR, I suggest you buy the straight USB C connector version so you can use a quest power injector and hook up your headset mounted battery.

Surprised at just how useful this cable is!

I was a bit skeptical at first at how well this cable would work for my studio setup. But I was very pleased at just how easy this works with my digital camera setup. I needed a way to live stream and connect a camera to my computer system which was several feet away from where I needed to mount the camera. I have used several other cables to attempt this but kept getting disconnects as the other cables just wouldn't work right.
This one works perfectly for the needs! I will say though its a bit expensive but if you are needing something that works well then this is well worth the expense. These cables are very high quality not cheap run of the mill cables.
The cable I got does not transmit power ( anything more than the standard 5 v ) so whatever your connecting it to needs to have its own power source (the Camera I am using has its own standalone power source so this was not an issue) (Connected to a Sony Camera for reference).
As many other reviewers have commented and shown video on, these cables are ment for when you have a need for longer runs that are greater than the normal traditional copper cables can handle.... These Fiberoptic cables really fit the situation for those longer runs. Just keep in mind that you cannot over bend these as that could lead to breaking the filament inside the cable.
In regards to speed and overall connection, The video quality I get when connecting my camera with these cables is perfect... I don't have any issues at all as these cables just work.
So if you have the need for longer runs and want to make sure there is no issue with latency or anything like that then you don't need to go any further.

Not a standard USB cable - no power to device, so buyer beware!

This is a data-only cable. It does not provide host power to a connected device. It works great for self-powered devices, and I use it for my Laserpecker 5 (which is self-powered). It can't work with Type-C SSDs, for example, or any other device that requires host power. It also does not support USB power delivery or USBPD protocol transmission. It is not e-marked, either. It can pass USB 3.2 Gen 2 data at 10Gig and has very low latency.
If you're certain your self-powered device can support a connection where the host does not provide power, this could be a great way to cheat your way around the USB cable length limitation. Also, you can still buy a USB power-injector to fake your way around the lack of power issue if you really need long cable length and power to the connected device.
Yes, I can recommend this cable, but only if you know that it'll work for your scenario. Be sure you mind the cable direction - Type-A connection is for the host only, and the Type-C connection is for the connected device only - the cable cannot be used "backwards".

No power but useful in the right application

It's emphasized multiple times in the listing but I think it's still easy enough for most people to overlook the fact that this does not transmit power even though it's USB. You can't do power with fiber optic, unfortunately. It's also important to note that while the devices at both ends must supply their own power, the device at the host (USB-A) end must also be able to supply power to the cable. If not, the cable won't work since the optical conversion circuitry won't be powered.

As long as your use case supports all of those caveats, this is a well functioning cable. Data transmission speed is excellent for the length in my experience. Build quality isn't terrible, but it isn't excellent for a $100 cable. The terminator housings are light plastic. The USB-C end is awful bulky for a right angle connector in some situations. The strain relief boots are medium quality but I'd like something a bit more robust for fiber and at this price.
